Name: Hannah Warwick
Position: MYP
Constituency: Birmingham
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
My main issues are transport prices and services, more places to go and things to do, and more in and out of school educational help. I think all these things link together and when these things start to change there will be a change for youth in many other areas, for instance the way the media portrays us, and how much adults listen and respect us. But as a member of the UK Youth Parliament I’m ready to do as much as I can to help whatever issues youth as a whole want even if it’s not one of mine.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
Transport being so expensive. If it was cheaper we could go more places so would have things to do, and not have to just spend time doing nothing. Then we may not be so badly viewed by the press as they would see we aren’t all out doing drugs and beating people up and so on.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
Just get Birmingham youth’s views across as much as I can, and ensure I let more people know of the UK Youth Parliament so that everyone can be involved, as well as hopefully help achieve some of the campaigns and if I can concentrate on more places to go and things to do for youths.
What is your future career ambition?
I’m not exactly sure yet but I want to be doing something that’s helping people. Probably in the area of business, social services or general government.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
Probably Barack Obama, because even though I don’t agree with all his views he’s the type of person that will get something done and make a change, despite whatever may be against him.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Listen to youth as we will be running the country soon. We do have decent ideas, oh and we’re not all as bad as the media makes out.
Additional comments:
Anything you would like to ask me, or anything you think I should be doing just give me a buzz, and I hope I do as well in parliament as I want and can do.
