Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I’m very passionate about abolishing university fees, or at least subsidising them in some way. This is mainly due to my personal experience of seeing friends and family have to struggle to pay for their fees, which resulted in more stress for them as they had to pick up extra work to try pay result in as little debt as possible. If the fees were abolished it would allow more young people to go through university, therefore giving everyone an equal chance in future life.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

I see a lack of aspiration as a main issue in my constituency of Leeds, particularly in my local area. Young people are not given enough exciting opportunities leaving them feeling apathetic. If they were told and supported in attending some of the great things that go on in the city, and if more were created, we would result in a much happier, confident and ambitious collection of children and young people!

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I would like to see the MYPs in this term of office creating something SPECTACULAR. Be that a large media campaign to gain our much deserved recognition or something similar to the SRE campaign in which we can actually make a positive change for our nation.

What is your future career ambition?

In an ideal world I’d like to be an actress or director. However, I understand just how difficult it is to become successful in those professions. So as a ‘back up plan’ I am interested in youth work, midwifery, and teaching and of course politics!

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

I’ve never really thought of a particular public figure that I admire… I prefer to admire the people around me such as my family, friends, teachers and youth workers. The countless number of things they’ve done for me makes me feel so grateful and I think they probably deserve my admiration more than anybody else at this time.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

LISTEN TO US! There are countless numbers of adults and young people across the nation campaigning and speaking out for what they believe in and I think it the Government should take action and make the differences that are possible. Any Parliament who is able to do that is a winner for me…

Additional comments:

Keep speaking out and make sure you’re ALWAYS heard! Keep awesome people.
