Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I’m very passionate about the way young people are portrayed in the media, and the bad reputation that young people are given. I think that people forget it’s the minority of young people that ‘cause trouble’ and unfortunately all young people receive the blame and the reputation.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I feel that the biggest issue young people face in Kirklees is that ‘there is nowhere for them to go.’ A lot of young people feel that on an evening there isn’t a safe and secure place where they can go. Youth provision in Kirklees is good but a lot of young people don’t know what is going on for them!
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
During my term of office, I hope to improve things for young people on a local, regional and national level. I think that I can add something to UKYP and hopefully, I can fully represent all young people.
What is your future career ambition?
At the moment, I’m unsure of what career I really want to do but I am interested in various things such as politics, science and languages. I think UKYP will provide me with skills that will assist me any career path that I choose.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I wouldn’t say that I admire a public figure, but Al Gore is a man that I totally respect. He was Vice President in America, and afterwards he spread his passion on global warming. He may not be a famous person, but he followed his dreams because he wanted to help everyone in the world. I think that he is an amazing person because he may not have been as successful as he wanted but he never gave up on what he believed in.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
I would tell the Government that young people have an opinion on most things, and that young people shouldn’t be dismissed. We may not have as much experience as older people but our opinions still count!
