Beyond Reason - November 2006 - Duration: 25:07
The idea for this film came from one of the sub groups of the Barking & Dagenham Youth Forum. We decided to make this film because we felt there were issues in England today that need addressing. The most important issue for us right now is the level of racism. The film was developed and acted out by young people aged 13 – 19 years old.
The film is about a black girl, whose family are really strict, and a white boy, whose family are negative towards a multi-cultural relationship. Both of the young people really like each other but are finding that they are getting lots of pressure from friends and family not to be with each other. Their relationship is not accepted due to the differences in their ethnic backgrounds and their religious beliefs.
Watch this short, exciting film and see what happens and the outcome of their relationship.
